How To Enable Your Browser To Accept Cookies

Windows Explorer 5.0-5.5

  1. From the Tools menu on the Microsoft Internet Explorer toolbar, click "Internet Options." The Internet Options dialog box opens.
  2. Click the "Security" tab.
  3. Click the "Internet" icon (if you are on a local area network, you must also repeat this procedure with the "Local Internet" icon selected.)
  4. There are two ways to enable cookies: either change the security level from "High" to "Medium" and click "OK" or
  5. Click "Custom Level." The Security Settings dialog box opens.
  6. From the Settings list, scroll down to Cookies.
  7. Under the Allow per session cookies (not stored) option, click "Enable" and then click "OK."
  8. Click "OK."
  9. Click here to Register -- it is not necessary to restart your browser or computer.


  10. note: In some instances of IE 5.0, the custom settings level in the Security Settings dialog box may automatically reset itself to High and cookies cannot be enabled. In the event this occurs, you must manually reset the security level to Medium, Medium-low or Low and restart the browser. If this problem persists, it can be eliminated by upgrading your browser to IE 5.01.


Windows Explorer 4.x

  1. From the View menu on the Microsoft Internet Explorer toolbar, click "Internet Options." The Internet Options dialog box opens.
  2. Click the "Advanced" tab.
  3. From the list, scroll down to Cookies.
  4. Under Cookies, click "Always accept cookies."
  5. Click "OK."
  6. Click here to Register -- it is not necessary to restart your browser or computer.


Windows Explorer 3.x

The Internet Explorer 3.0 browser accepts cookies by default. However, the Internet Explorer 3 browser can be set to ask you if you want to accept cookies when they occur. If you receive this prompt, click "OK." Click here to Register -- it is not necessary to restart your browser or computer.


Windows Navigator 6.0

  1. From the Edit menu, click "Preferences."
  2. Under Category, click "Advanced."
  3. Under Advanced, choose "Cookies." In the Cookies section, choose either "Accept all cookies" or "Accept all cookies that get sent back to the originating server."
  4. Click "OK."

  1. From the Edit menu, click "Preferences." The Preferences dialog box opens.
  2. Under Receiving Files, click "Cookies."
  3. In the "When receiving cookies" drop down menu, click "ask for each site"
  4. Close the Preferences dialog box.

What Is a Cookie?

A cookie is a small text file sent by our Web server to be stored by your browser so that Home Price Check can recognize you as a returning user.

The cookie we send to your browser does not give us access to the rest of your computer. Only Home Price Check can read the cookie we create -- no other site can access that cookie's information.

While using Home Price Check, you are protected by our Privacy Policy (see link in footer below). We do not use cookies to track or monitor where you go once you leave Home Price Check.


How and Why Home Price Check Uses Cookies

Home Price Check uses cookies to allow you access to Bed/Bath/Rooms and Assessed Value information. Cookies also allow us to remember you and your preferences. For example, the cookie will save you the trouble of logging in each time you visit Home Price Check.

If you choose not to enable cookies in your browser, you will still be able to use Home Price Check. However, you will not be able to get Bed/Bath/Rooms and Assessed Value information.
